He was predeceased by: his parents, Lorenzo Atkins and Mariana Atkins; and his brother Michael Atkins. He is survived by: his wife Marion Atkins; his children, Jonathan S. Atkins (Susan) and Jennifer A. Ferguson (Spencer Hale); and his grandchildren, Sara E. Atkins (Eli Sharon), Samuel R. Atkins, Russell D. Ferguson and Catherine M. Ferguson.
