She was predeceased by : her parents, Thelmos A. Sease and Elease K. Sease; her husband Hampton A. Waites, Jr.; and her daughter Paula Waites Gunter. She is survived by : her children, Linda Waites Harwell and James A. Waites; and her grandchildren, Donna Peterson (David), Carrie Tinsley (Jon), Ross Goodin (Marilyn), Melissa Gunter, Rachel Gunter, Matthew Harwell (Britteny) and Grace Harwell. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (2920 Pella Ave, West Columbia, SC 29170) or The American Cancer Society.
