She was predeceased by: her former husband Carl T. Cain, Jr.; her parents, Lizzie Inez Drayton and Joshua Townsend, Sr.; her siblings, David Drayton, Jr. and Octavia Annette Brunson; and her grandson Jervais Wan Ya Cain.

She is survived by: her daughters, Inez Ponton (Arthur), Wanda Cain, Dr. Latasha Rogers (Michael) and Carlina Mitchell (Alan); her grandchildren, Kuree Sheard (Benjamin, III), Joshua Cain, Tiana Purvis, Logan Wise, Antonio Treyveon Purvis, Ethan Wise and Chase Wise; her great grandchild Jade Wan Ya Cain; her grandson Braxton Javon Mitchell; and her siblings, Mary McNeil, Marie Kelly (Adgie), Mary Davis and Joshua Townsend, Jr..

Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Palmer Memorial Chapel - Columbia (1200 Fontaine Pl, Columbia, SC 29223). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Palmer Memorial Chapel (1200 Fontaine Pl, Columbia, SC 29223).
