He is survived by: his wife Sharon Yoppke Thomas; his children, Stephanie Brown (Hal), Janet Powell (Dave) and McClarghty Thomas; his grandchildren, Katherine Grace Brown, Maggie Belle Brown, Grayson Brown, William Powell (Laney), John Thomas Powell (Maddie), Anna Powell and David Powell; his great grandchild Maeve Powell; and his siblings, Ann Thomas Welch (James) and Robert Ervin Thomas (Carol). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
