She was predeceased by: her parents, Edwin Jay Wallace and Willie Mae "Dit" Cornwell Wallace; and her brother Eddie Wallace. She is survived by: her husband George R. Powell; her daughter Avis Bell Powell Lindler (Joey) of Chapin, SC; her grandsons, Joseph A. "J. J." Lindler, Jr. and Joshua E. Lindler; and her siblings, Harry Wallace (Wayne) of Hartsville, SC and Grace Brickle (Terry) of Moncks Corner, SC. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Main Street United Methodist Church (1830 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Columbia United Methodist Church (1830 Main St, Columbia, SC 29201).
