George Leo Geckle III Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on August 28, 2025, at the age of 85, George Leo Geckle III of Columbia, South Carolina, born in Danbury, Connecticut passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Justine Carroll (Judy); and his parents, George Geckle and Dorothy Geckle. He is survived by: his wife Shelley Smith; his brother Bob Geckle; his sons, Geordie Geckle (Mary Breci) and Richard Geckle (Nora Field); his grandchildren, Megan (Matthew Giebler), Helen Geckle and Evie Geckle; and his great grandchild Maggie Giebler.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cyrenius H. Booth Library of Newtown, or to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
