He was predeceased by: his parents, James Oakman Swindler and Pearl Martin Swindler; his wife Bobbie Sharpe Swindler; and his sisters, Betty Lou Fulmer and Addie Mae Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Terry (Beth) and Penny R. Sox (late Steve); his grandchildren, Stacy Gross (Kevin), Stephanie Sox and Justin Swindler; his great grandchildren, Savannah and Blake Gross; and his brother Ronnie (Vie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A graveside service was held on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens (2603 Two Notch Rd, Columbia, SC 29204).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Trenholm Baptist Church, 6515 North Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206.
