With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Helen Montgomery in Columbia, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lyon and Elizabeth Marbert Milling; her brother Robert N. Milling; her sister-in-law Marjorie S. Milling; her sister Bess M. LaMontagne; her brother-in-law Col. G. A. Lamontagne; and her sister Martha M. Fabrizio.
She is survived by: her spouse Zeno Hart Montgomery; her children, Michael H. Montgomery (Victoria) of Lexington, SC and Pamela M Mills (Terry) of Greenville, SC; and her grandchildren, Hart Montgomery (Eleanor Stoeckle) of San Francisco, CA, Mack Montgomery (Lindsay) and Kirby Mills of Fort Worth, TX. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
The family requests that Memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church of Columbia, Columbia College, or the Epworth Children's Home in lieu of flowers.
