He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob B. Schwartz Sr. and Willie Celeste Cooper Schwartz; his wife Betty Casselman Schwartz; and his siblings, Willie B. Schwartz, Ruby Hopkins, Alice Kauffman, Lillian Murry and Fannie May Bates.
He is survived by: his son Jacob B. "Jay" Schwartz III (Cathy) of Greenville, SC.; his grandchildren, Sally Ann Mertens (David) and Gregory Jacob "Greg" Schwartz (Chelsey); his great grandchildren, Abigail, Madilyn, Naomi, Gideon and Ethan of Fletcher, NC; and his brother Leonard P. Schwartz of Asheville, NC..
