He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Waters Steinmeyer; his children, Jessica Goff (Todd), Thomas Sterling, Jr. (Sierra), Caitlin Sterling and Sonia Trimnal; his grandchildren, Caroline Reeves (Benji), Reagan Goff, Isabella Sterling, Thomas Sterling, III and Benjamin Lee Sterling; his great grandchild Weston Reeves; his siblings, Mary Peters (Mike) and Tony Steinmeyer (Gwen); and his sister-in-law Mary Steinmeyer. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
