With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jason Michael Schmidt of Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 41. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his wife Liz; his children, Eleanor, Harry and Sam; his parents, Debbie Schmidt and Joe Schmidt; his parents-in-law, David and Irene Eder; his siblings, Jenni Schmidt, Dan Schmidt (Betsy), Matt Schmidt (Marissa) and Aaron Schmidt (Khaleigha); his nephews, Hank and Fred; his cousin Charlie; and his aunts and uncles, Robert Schmidt (Henrique), Roseann Kiesnowski (Chris), David Schmidt, Dave Terrill and Kathy Bigford (Charles).
Viewing was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Dunbar Funeral Home (3926 Devine St, Columbia, SC 29205). A reception was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:00 PM at the Downtown Church (2030 Gregg St, Columbia, SC 29201).
