She is survived by: her mother Janie Mae Asmond Amaker; her husband Johnnie Porterfield, Jr.; her children, Jennifer Denise Galmon, Jeanine Nicole Porterfield, Jeanetta Sharee Porterfield (Anthony) and Johnie Edward Porterfield III; her siblings, Tony Amaker, David Amaker and Robin Richburg; her mother-in-law Helen Porterfield; and her sisters-in-law, Doris Williams (Hubert), Helen Belton (Curtis), Vivian Thomas, Barbara Walters, Linda Evans (Carmen) and Cynthia Mayers. She is also survived by Eight Grand-children and a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Palmer Memorial Chapel - Columbia (1200 Fontaine Pl, Columbia, SC 29223). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229-8307).
