He was predeceased by: his parents, Sterrell Jasper Bright and Myrtle Weeks Bright; his wife Patricia Ann Thompson Bright; his son Ernie; and his stepson William Simpson.
He is survived by: his brother David Bright, Sr. (Ann) of Tucson, AZ; his stepchildren, Amber Fowler (Andrew) of Columbia, Carol Fisher (Chris) of Swansea and Guy Earl Johnson, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Columbia; and his sibling's children, David Bright, Jr. (Vanessa) of Alexandria, VA and Betsy Morgan (Dave) of Tucson, AZ. He is also survived by grandchildren, great nieces, and great nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223).
