He is survived by: his nephew Frank Herndon of Savannah, GA; his niece Scottie Herndon Trapp (Danny) of Charlotte, NC; his great-nieces, Simmons Trapp Purdy (Russ) of Columbia, SC, Catherine Scott Trapp of Washington, DC and Elizabeth Joann Herndon of Savannah, GA.; and his great-nephew Davis Chandler Herndon of Atlanta, GA.
