It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Henry Robinson (Columbia, South Carolina), born in Sumter, South Carolina, who passed away on June 17, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Olivia Morant (Eddie), Reverend Ruth E. Robinson, David Jackson (Ruby), Elder Juanita Dinkins, Mary Moody and Jeremiah Moody.
He is survived by: his former wife Mary Alice Dawson; his wife Arneitta K. Robinson; his children, Harold Dawson, Melvin Dawson (Joann), John Vergil Robinson (Melissa), Veronica Robinson Nickens (Thomas), Linsey Robinson (Gwendolyn), Derrick Robinson (KeaQuanda) and Ernest Atkinson; his nieces, Teresa Dawson and Shakira Robinson; his nephew Stanley Dawson; and his sons, Bobby Maple and James Johnson. He is also survived by six sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and life long friends.
In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home from 4 – 8 p. m., 4230 Patriot Parkway, Sumter.
John was the Patient Advocate for the Kidney Foundation at Sumter Dialysis.
