He was predeceased by: his father Rudolph J. Kovacs (Scotty). He is survived by: his mother Barbara Kaufman Kovacs; his sisters, Lisa Kovacs and Elisabeth Kovacs; his daughter Selene Marcello (Mitch); and his granddaughter Eloise Marcello.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Episcopal Cathedral (1100 Sumter St, Columbia, SC 29201).
