He was predeceased by: his parents, Julian P. Griggs and Bessie L. Griggs; and his siblings, Everette Griggs, Floyd Griggs of Chesterfield, SC, Willie Pittman, Annie Mae Jackson of Ruby, SC, Sarah Gibson of Kannapolis, NC and Bertie Cagle of Hopkins, SC.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Cribb Griggs (Deanie); his children, Ricky Lynn Griggs and Angela Denise Griggs (Angie); and his grandchildren, Candace Alexandra Griggs, Cameron Vance Griggs and Ezra Huggins Griggs.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
