She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Jones and Grace Jones; her husband Paul Carter; her brothers, Clarence "Buddy" Jones and Alan Keith Jones; and her pets, Cricket, Carson, Ellie, Bubba and Andy.

She is survived by: her goddaughter Donna L. Thomas (Larry) of Princess Anne, Maryland; her niece Shiela Shrieves of Myrtle Beach; her nephew Harold Carter of Valdosta, Georgia.; her friends, Bettie Lou McCormick of West Virginia, Arlene, Darrell Robinson, Cindy and Claude Leitner; and her caregiver Cathy Jeffcoat.
