He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sloan and Mina Sloan; and his siblings, Erskine Sloan, Gerald Sloan and Patsy Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Dianne Creech Sloan of Barnwell, SC; his children, Kim Parkins of Union, SC, Daphne Hooper (Travis) of Barnwell, SC and Michelle Handberry (Joe) of Barnwell, SC; his grandchildren, Jonathan Parkins of Union, SC, Felicia Parkins of Union, SC, Shelby Burdette (Jerred) of Charleston, SC, Mattison Hooper (Clay Hankins) of Barnwell, SC, Taylor Alexander (Daniel) of Barnwell, SC, Ashton Handberry of Barnwell, SC and Caden Handberry of Barnwell, SC; his great grandchildren, Carleigh Sumner, Mary Chilton Alexander, Margaret Alexander and Eleanor Burdette; his siblings, Johnny Sloan (Sandra) of Woodruff, SC, Ricky Sloan (Toni) of Woodruff, SC and Rita Mobley (Ed) of Woodruff, SC; and his sister-in-law Amy Sloan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
