Kent DeMars Obituary
It is with sadness that the passing of Kent DeMars (Columbia, South Carolina) is shared. Kent, born on August 9, 1943 in East Saint Louis, Illinois, passed away on July 2, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Kent DeMars to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his wife Susan Murdoch DeMars; and his siblings, Carole Carpenter (Jim) and Kim DeMars. He is survived by: his daughters, Colleen McLeod (Reaves McLeod) and Kristen Rutledge (Reeves Rutledge); his granddaughters, Carlyn, Lauren, Mollie, Emmy and Margo; his parents, Walter DeMars and Dorothy DeMars; and his siblings, Michele Fey, Kevin DeMars (Stephanie) and John DeMars. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Still Hopes Chaplain Discretionary Fund, for the benefit of the employees and caregivers. Or checks can be made out to "Chaplain's Discretionary Fund" and mailed to PO Box 2959 West Columbia, SC 29179.
