With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lynne Hempley Burch of Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Lynne Hempley leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her father Sidney Augustus Hempley; her husband Harvey Lee Burch; her mother Sara Justice Hempley (Justice); her son Brian Harvey Burch; and her brother-in-law Dr. Fred Shipley.

She is survived by: her daughter Sara R. Sellers (Hans); her grandchildren, Jordan Smith-Burch (Cory) and Chase Sellers (Karis); her great grandchild Greyson Sellers; her sisters, Jayne Holland (Pete), Gayle Burley (John) and Kaye Shipley; and her caregiver Kim Brown. She is also survived by five nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.
