Though Major may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson Pryor and Rebecca Aileen Wright Pryor; and his sisters, Nita Gordon and Nancy Grills. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Ellen Hughes Pryor; his daughters, Karen Rene Pryor of Swansea, SC and Andrea Lynn Black (Earl Boone) of Lexington, SC; and his sisters, Susan Osmundson and Sarah Beam.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
