He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry and Katie Hedgepath Christmus; his wife Verdie Lewis Wells Christmus; and his siblings, Warren Christmus (Grace), Charles Christmus (Mary Ellen) and Mary Helen Floss.

He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Lewis Christmus (Gaye) of Columbia, Mark Wells Christmus (Elizabeth) of Pomaria, Matthew Dean Christmus (Sherri) of Clover and John Luke Christmus (Sandy) of Blythewood; his grandchildren, Nathan (Jill), Sarah (William), Ben, Sam (Joybelle), Nick, Seth, Haleigh (Thomas), John Luke, Jr. and Cullen; and his great grandchildren, Anna, Kate, Thomas, Evelyn, Coral, Hunter and Jack.
