With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melinda Kay Steck of Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on July 21, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Carla West Hulen and Jamie Hulen; and her siblings, Bill Hulen and Glenda Jo Hulen Chumbler. She is survived by: her husband Edward Joseph Steck; her children, Edward Joseph Steck, II of Austin, TX, Jeffrey David Steck and Susan Elizabeth Steck of Columbia, SC; her brother Jim Hulen; and her grandchildren, Emily, Andrew, Walker and Holden. She is also survived by one niece and five nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to the St. John Neumann Catholic School Library Fund, 721 Polo Rd, Columbia, SC 29223.
