He was predeceased by: his parents, Merton Hatfield and Ruby Lee Fulford Hatfield; his friend Fay Lois Groman; his former wife Mary Ellen Brown Hatfield; his daughter Susan Lee Hatfield Gonzalez; and his siblings, James Adrian Hatfield and Carmen G. Buse Hatfield.
He is survived by: his wife Fay Lois Groman Hatfield; and his children, Melinda Fay Hatfield Maybee (Tim), James Dennis Hatfield (Deborah), John Clyde Hatfield and Laura Ellen Hatfield West. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
