It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Morris Coulter of Columbia, South Carolina, born in Scarsdale, New York, who passed away on October 12, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Coulter and Helen Aiken Coulter. He is survived by: his wife Karen Coulter of Columbia; his sons, Richard Coulter, Jr. (Becky) of Columbia and Billy Coulter (Missy) of Sumter; his sisters-in-law, Marcia MacBride (Georgia) of Savannah and Marjorie Hightower (Jim) of Columbia; his grandchildren, David, Macey, William, Cameron and Charlie; and his niece Charlotte.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Spring Valley Presbyterian Church (125 Sparkleberry Ln, Columbia, SC 29229-4338). Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Potts Fellowship Hall at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church (125 Sparkleberry Ln, Columbia, SC 29229-4338).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Debt Reduction Fund at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church, 125 Sparkleberry Lane, Columbia, SC 29229.
