With sadness, we share the passing of Robert Friendly (Columbia, South Carolina). Robert, born on April 14, 1939 in Orangeburg, South Carolina, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Shielda Friendly; his brothers, Charles Friendly and Edward Friendly; his sons, Larry Friendly and Robert Allen Friendly; and his nephew Eddie Friendly.
He is survived by: his son Mark Friendly (Laura); and his grandchildren, Linda (Brandon), Chris (Hannah), Eric (Aileen) and Rachel (Shemar).
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Bush River Memorial Gardens (5400 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapin High School Athletic Fund in memory of Larry Friendly.
