He was predeceased by: his parents, Derwin "Ted" McKenzie and Selma Harju McKenzie; and his wife Joan Meredith Simmonds McKenzie. He is survived by: his children, Melinda Joan Waltner (Paul) of Ypsilanti, MI and Major LeAnn Marie Reed.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Kornegay Funeral Home, Camden Chapel (1112 Fair St, Camden, SC 29020). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 12:30 PM at the St. Timothy's Lutheran Church (1301 Mill St, Camden, SC 29020). The military honors was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
