He is survived by: his wife Nancy Pendarvis Pogue Elliott; his children, Ronald James Elliott Jr. (Elin), Richard McKenzie Elliott (Beth), Laurie Elliott Cone and Leigh Elliott Murphy (Kip); his stepchildren, Betsy Pogue Hutton (Larry) and Richard Coleman Pogue (Clair); and his brother Thomas Elliott (Tom). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or any charitable organization of one's choice in his memory.
