Scott Hamilton Laughead Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Scott Hamilton Laughead of Columbia, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 21, 2025 at the age of 67. He was predeceased by: his parents, J. C. Roy Laughead and Mary Rogers Laughead; his brothers, Dave Laughead and Kurtis Laughead; and his in-laws, Ed and Marie Cacciamani Barrett.

He is survived by: his wife Susan Barrett Laughead; his sons, Aaron Scott Laughead of Greer, SC and Eric Glenn Laughead of West Ashley, SC; his sister Kandi Shealy (Andy) of Little Mountain, SC; and his brothers-in-law, Ed Barrett (Maria) of South Abington, PA, Tony Barrett (Kathie) of Scott Township, PA and Jim Barrett (Sharon) of Newton, MA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Shives Funeral Home, Trenholm Road Chapel (7600 Trenholm Rd Ext, Columbia, SC 29223). A reception will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Woodlands Golf & Country Club (100 Norse Way, Columbia, SC 29229-3306).
