We announce the death of Tamara Sloop of Columbia, South Carolina, who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 72. She was predeceased by: her father Martin John Shockley; and her former husband Lawrence N. Powell. She is survived by: her mother Avis Blair Shockley; her husband Barry S. Sloop; her daughter Laura Cruz; her stepchildren, Rebecca Sloop and Christopher Sloop; her granddaughter Brawley Sloop; her brother Barry Shockley (Diana); her niece Michelle Brooks; and her nephew Michael Shockley.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Northeast United Methodist Church (4000 Hard Scrabble Rd, Columbia, SC 29223).
