He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Frank Wright Shealy. He is survived by: his mother Jeanne Anne Todd Shealy; his children, Erin Forsell (Matthew), Ethan Shealy and Emma McCaghren (David); his grandchildren, Harper Grace Shealy and Dalton Frank McCaghren; and his sisters, Margaret Hoskins (Graham), Jane Putnam (late Ronald) and Caroline Miller (Wade). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
