With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virginia W. Yoder of Columbia, South Carolina, born in Lincolnton, North Carolina, who passed away on December 1, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Shuford Whitener, Sr. and Eva Goforth Whitener; her husband Ray Elliott Yoder; and her siblings, Jacob Shuford Whitener, Jr., Albert Anthony Whitener and Eleanor Gay Ramseur.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cynthia Yoder Nance (Francis) of Virginia Beach and Wynn Allison Fleming (Bill) of Blythewood; her grandchildren, David Graham Young (Neel), Elliott Ross Young (Danielle) and Allison Brenna Fleming; her great grandchildren, Carrie, Hayes, Amelia and Ellie Young; her brothers, Terry Allison Whitener (Tamera) and Robert Daniel Whitener; and her sister-in-law Ruth Mayme Whitener of Lincolnton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Midlands Chapter of The Alzheimer's Association, 140 Stoneridge Dr Suite 640, Columbia, South Carolina 29210.
