He was predeceased by: his parents, William Davis Smith and Lottie Evans Smith; and his siblings, Leola Crytzer (Lloyd), Annie Laurie Chalfant (Gordon), William Davis Smith, Jr., Davis DuRant Smith (Mildred) and Herbert Smith (Shirley).
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Cyndi Walker (Billy) of Ora, SC, Robin White (Gary) of Andrews, SC, Dana West (Scott) of Fleming Island, FL, Herbert Smith, Jr. (Gina) of Saluda, SC, Byron Crytzer (Kelly) and Roy Smith (Rebecca) of James Island, SC.
