She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyvuren Hardee and Audrey Hardee. She is survived by: her husband Tom Whittaker; her children, Timmy Whittaker (Nicole) and Lindsey Owens (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Connor, Gracelyn, Audrey, Mary Jo (Sofi), Thomas and Alli; and her siblings, Debbie Hardee and Danny Hardee (Jennifer). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Cheri's honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
