He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas L. Strittmatter and Susan Morris Strittmatter; and his siblings, Thomas (Maureen), Matthew (Ronnie), Bonnie (Bob) and Bernie.

He is survived by: his close friend Patricia "Trish" Kilkenny; the mother of his children Jackie Strittmatter; his sons, Daniel Strittmatter, Jr. (Megan) and Adam Strittmatter; his grandchildren, Amelia Rose Strittmatter, James Daniel Strittmatter, Theodore James Callahan and Patrick James Wood; his adoptive daughter Danielle; his son-in-law Eric Callahan; his stepdaughter Alicia Wood; and his siblings, Charlene Chait (Dan Roberts), Mark Strittmatter (Kathy), Luke Strittmatter and John Strittmatter (Tiffany).

Memorial donations may be made to either the American Heart Association or to Tunnels to Towers.
