He is survived by: his children, Pamela Mitchell, Kathy Mitchell-Ballen (Chris), Barbara Bellamy Johnson, Tracey Mitchell (Marquita) and Timothy Mitchell (Nicole); his siblings, Alberta Ballen (Gerald), Willis Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell and Roosevelt Mitchell (Janice); his sister-in-law Margaree Mitchell; his aunts, Andis Mae Mitchell and Reece Mitchem; and his brother-in-law Edison Grate (Johnnie Mae). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
