He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur James and Lena Bell Hardee James; his former wife Shirley Jean James; his children, Deborah James Howell and Kenneth Ernest James; and his brother Billy Joe James.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mae Naples; his children, Jerry Ernest James (Joy) of Conway, Terry Earl James of Conway and Lynn James Elvis (Kimberly) of Conway; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne Anderson, Lyndsay Chandley (Brandon), Brooke Elvis Cox, Bryson Elvis, Joshua James, Judson James, Timmy James (Ali) and Elizabeth Hunter Allen (Bradley); his stepsons, Michael Anthony Naples and James Joseph Naples (Angela) of Conway; and his brother Carl James (Vonice) of Conway. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
