He was predeceased by: his parents, Vallie Chestnut and Hattie Lee Chestnut; his son Ernest Chestnut, Jr.; his grandson Ernest Scott Chestnut; and his siblings, Alma Todd, Janie Hughes, Helen Todd, Inez Hughes, Charlotte Chestnut, J. D. Chestnut and Donnie Chestnut.

He is survived by: his wife Myrna Lyerly Chestnut; and his daughters, Teresa Dail (Michael) of Newport News, VA, Anita Chestnut (Linwood Stroud) of Conway and Rhonda Ingler (Dave) of Conway. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made in Mr. Chestnut's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
