We announce the death of Heyward Dreway Smith (Conway, South Carolina), who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 77. Heyward will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edison Smith and Magline Hardin Smith; his son Reginald D. Smith; and his brothers, James Allen Smith, Hoyt Smith and Douglas Richard Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Smith; his son Bobby Wayne Smith (Lynn); his stepson Tracy Davis (Tracy); his siblings, Clinton Smith, Bill Smith (Gwen), Randal Smith and Brittie Turner (Frank); and his grandchildren, Haley Godwin, Cody Davis, Shelley Jordan and Leslie Causey. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and many other friends and family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Conway Church of God (3111 Cultra Rd, Conway, SC 29526). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Westside Memorial Gardens Cemetery (2525 W Rd, Conway, SC 29527).
