He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Franklin Ashburn, Sr. and Pearl Naomi King Ashburn; his grandson Todd Stevens; and his siblings, Leonard E. Harr, Naomi Podleyon and Charlotte Mims.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene A. Ashburn; his children, Howard Ashburn, III and Robin Holt; his grandchildren, Monica, Brooke, Jessica, Elizabeth and Mary Anne; and his sisters, Nettie Glaeser, Beverly Jarrell, Dorothy O'Neil and Patsy Goddard. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
