He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Fred William and Edith Young Barfield; and his siblings, Larson, Billy, Gerald, Legrand, Sherrod (Brenda) and Gwendolyn.
He is survived by: his wife Joanna M Barfield; his son Stephen Gibbs (Lisa); and his siblings, Carroll Skipper (Frederick), Laverne Barfield (Charlene) and Darlyn Adams.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Palmetto Pointe Church of God (2901 Fantasy Way, Myrtle Beach, SC 29579).
