He was predeceased by: his parents, Gonzale Gibson and Rosie Johnson Gibson; his son Lee Gibson; his siblings, Leta Mae Johnson and Deck Gibson; and his brother-in-law George Hucks.

He is survived by: his wife Virginia Gibson; his daughter Marie Gibson Floyd (Ray); his grandchildren, Brandon Floyd (Amanda), Bradley Floyd (Stephany), Raegan Gibson Hamilton (Gage) and Lake Gibson (Lexie Roberts); his great grandchildren, Briggs Floyd, Paisley Floyd, Nash Floyd, Maci Jo Floyd and Dax Hamilton; his siblings, Estaleen Hucks, Lois Watkins (Jimmy), Jimmy Johnson (Audrey) and Joey Johnson (Lorra); and his close friend Bob Hinkle. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
