He is survived by: his wife Cynthia McCray Brown; his children, John Sheldon, Matthew J. Brown and Courtney L. Brown (Alysa); his siblings, Herbert Brown, Glenn Pee, Jesse Brown and Mary Baker; his mother-in-law Aridean McCray; and his siblings-in-law, Melinda Brooks (Allen), Gwenette McCray, Banetta Cole (Roy), Christi Eagles (Kevin), Joseph McCray (Vicki), Bobby McCray (Melissa) and Clifford McCray (Cheryl). He is also survived by four grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
