She was predeceased by : her parents, McCoy Hill and Gertie Hill; her husband Herman "Jinks" Martin; her daughter Sheila Martin; and her son-in-law Eugene McDowell.

She is survived by : her children, Wayne Martin (Sondra), Priscilla McDowell and Lisa Reed (Tony). She is also survived by nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great grandchildren.
