She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Dixon Chronister and Margaret Royce Chronister; her husband James F. Herring; and her sisters, Virginia Rhodes, Dorothy Dorand and Patricia Muck.

She is survived by: her children, Richard B. Herring of Summerville, SC, Ronald A. Herring (Julie) of Cape Coral, FL, Roderick F. Herring of New Carlisle, OH, Royce W. Herring (Traci) of Suwanee, GA and Bonnie S. Nieman of New Carlisle, OH; her grandchildren, Krista Chambers, Matthew Herring, Jennifer Allen, Ryan Herring, Jessica Muncy, Christian Herring, Savannah Herring and Taylor Herring; and her brother Robert Chronister of Washington Courthouse, OH.. She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren.
