She was predeceased by: her parents, Alva Blain "AB" Haines and Ethel Haines (Gilmore); her stepfather Clarence "Grinny" Shrum; her brother Bill Shrum; and her son Steven J. Hartle.

She is survived by: her former husband Joseph L. Hartle; her husband Joe; her children, Joseph (Deb) of Summerville, SC, David of Huntsville, AL, Arlington, Michael of Mauldin, SC, Mark of Taylors, SC and Karen Wassum (Phil) of Olive Branch, MS.; and her sisters, Joyce Gillette of Venice, FL and Cathy Wencil (Steve) of Clarion, PA. She is also survived by numerous grand-children, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
