Ricky Thomas Nowell Obituary
Ricky Thomas Nowell, 68, of Conway, SC and formerly of Franklinton, NC, passed away on April 25, 2026. Ricky was born in Franklin County, NC on March 26, 1958 to the late John Thomas and Anne Rose "Patty" Perry Nowell. In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Timothy Nowell.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Karen Nowell; his son, Keith Nowell; stepson, John DeGumba; daughter, Kimberly Lyons; his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Ricky Piper; his nephew, T.J. Piper; and numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins.
Ricky served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy. Ricky loved talking about the service. He was in the American Legion Post 52 and help with fund raiser at the legion. Ricky loved his church Mount Olivet Baptist Church and was very active and helped with fundraisers at the church also. He did not meet a stranger. He was very family oriented. Ricky loved working outside. His last place to work was Ocean Lakes Campground.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Fairview Cemetery in Franklinton, with Pastors Carl Hunter and Becky Bishop officiating.
