She was predeceased by: her parents, Martha Sara Westberry Simmons and Herman Thomas Simmons. She is survived by: her husband Gary Awalt; her son Houston Awalt (Kayla); her sister Betty Bashor (Glenn); and her pets, Willie, Ellie Mae, Sissy and Rifle. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Goldfinch Funeral Home (11528 Hwy 17, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576).
