He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hulon and Maybelle Holt Chestnut; his wife Margaret Tarte Chestnut; his siblings, William Arland Chestnut and Paula Edwards (J. P. Edwards); his nieces, Terry Edwards and Tonya Wenum; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Tarte and Don Roush.
He is survived by: his grandson Alex Rogers of Surfside Beach; his great-niece Bellamy Kijsamnong (Daniel) of Columbia; and his siblings-in-law, Fred Tarte (Gail) of Aynor, Allene Roush of Surfside Beach, Linda Terry (Dickie) of Columbia and Judy Johnson (Dale) of Aynor. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
